A small school district in Texas is going to spend $10,000 on guns and gun training. That's $10,000 that will NOT be used to actually educate a child. $10,000 that will NOT be used to buy current, up to date textbooks. $10,000 that will NOT be used to hire and retain "highly qualified" teachers. $10,000 that will NOT be used for repairs and maintenance on schools. $10,000 that will NOT be used for libraries, school nurses, counselors, career advisers, and healthy lunches.
All these things I have just mentioned are things that have been cut from schools as education dollars dry up.
Think about that next time you are talking to a doctor that can't speak English because students in the U.S. are too ignorant to do anything other than dig ditches.
random thought that came to me this morning -
What if hemlock were the peanuts of ancient Greece?
I have a question for the "lets arm the teachers" crowd.
Who is going to pay for said guns and/or armed guards?
School and police budgets are already tapped out and many of the people that seem to be pushing the armed teacher line are also pushing the no taxes/starve the beast message, so unless the NRA has a gun fairy hidden somewhere all the rhetoric seems rather meaningless.
Step inside the mind of me.
