Can she overcome her prejiduce in order for them to work as a team? Smashwords code PT46F Don’t Press the Red X – That bad first day at a new job. We’ve all had it, but for some it can be very, very bad. Already free on Amazon and Smashwords! The Second Coming – Did we already string Jesus up faster than the Romans did? Already free on Amazon and Smashwords! I’m Sorry – A woman trapped in an abusive relationship finally gets pushed too far. Already free on Amazon and Smashwords! The Interview – A man down on his luck has one last chance at a dream job but it might come at too high a price. Already free on Amazon and Smashwords! Contracts of the Father – A continuation of The Interview. Smashwords code EZ66J The Eternal Question – Why are we here? A chance encounter with a strange old may provide the answer. Smashwords code FX69E Futurecaster – Can a fortune teller escape his own predicted fate? What are you waiting for? See ya in cyperspace. :) The holidays are (mostly) over and I hope you have survived. I had a few random thoughts that have strung together somewhat in a common theme. Holidays are stressful for many different reasons. Like many others I had a few moments of frustration that had me doing the silent scream thing. I then came in to work this morning and read some stuff that made my holidays look like sugar and spice. It reinforced that whole be happy with what you have thing for me. One good thing that was a nice little pre-Christmas gift to me from the universe was the news that a new short story I submitted to a contest a few months ago came in second and got published in an anthology titled Seasonal, Sweet, and Suspenseful: A collection of Holiday, Romance and Mystery Short Stories. It's available on Amazon for $2.99. Be sure to check it out and leave a review! I should have Visitor up as a stand alone short in the next few weeks. Along those same lines, a few of my photos were selected for publication in the Tiny Tale edition of The Book Nymph's December edition. Be sure to check it out, The Book Nymph always has interesting new authors for you to discover. Another nice thing from my holiday break has been time for one of my favorite activities - heading out into the desert with my camera in tow. On this particular trip I spent some quality time with some power poles. Some of these shots can be purchased on my pixels.com page.
Lastly, is the subject of new years resolutions. Many years ago I resolved to no longer make new years resolutions and so far have a perfect track record. I have no plans to sully such a winning streak. :) Enjoy the rest of your holidays, and thanks for your support! Dave Aware is done, published, and ready to be enjoyed! Aware is a short sci-fi dealing with artificial intelligence, overcoming prejudice, and survival. Get it from Amazon for only .99 Or order it from Smashwords FREE by using coupon code EN62K until November 7. Enjoy the story and please be sure to leave a review. Thank you for your support. Dave Thanks to the joy of the internet, I found a new photography technique and spent some time playing with it this weekend. I like the results!
P.S. If you haven't done so already, be sure to look me up on Goodreads and please be sure to leave a review of any stories that you enjoyed. Thanks Did you ever wonder where stories come from? In this case I had an idea pop into my head last night while reading a book. I wrote the basic idea down on a notepad along with a few lines of dialogue so they would not get lost to sleep. This morning the following flash fiction was written.
Visitor The visitor marveled at the garden and its testament to a life that was in balance with nature. He worked his way through the house and found William in the study. William turned and the sound of the visitors entrance. “I knew you would come.” “It would kill me to disappoint you.” William smiled at the shared personal joke. “Can you stay a while? “It would be my pleasure.” The sat and talked as old friends are wont to do. The talked of good times and bad; loves lost and battles won. “I suppose we should get going,” William said with a sigh. “If you would like.” They paused at the door as William looked back at his soulless body. “What will my family do?” “There will be anger and grieving,” Death replied, “but in the end they will realize that the time comes for us all and none can escape it. Not even me.” The next step will be to let it sit for a pit and eventually go back and write more. Someday it will be mature enough to be let loose on the world! I was happily working on my story Aware that I still hope to have ready in a few weeks when a co-worker uttered a phrase that sent me down a rabbit hole towards another story. Damn plot bunnies. But I digress. Be sure to check out Don't Press the Red X! If you act now it is free on Smashwords using the coupon code HD35U at checkout. And don't forget that Smashwords is format agnostic so it doesn't matter what format you use. In other news, you can now find me on Goodreads so if you are there be sure to find me and leave some reviews! Thanks. Looking for some short stories all in one place for your Kindle?
